More info about Baltimore Bayhawks comforters?!

Very shortly, this page will feature a lot of information about buying Baltimore Bayhawks comforters.

Professional lacrosse returned to Baltimore on June 7th, 2001, when the Bayhawks took on the Long Island Lizards. Billed as a clash of the two dominant lacrosse hot beds in the country, the game proved memorable for all.

Chris Turner (Salisbury State) scored the first ever MLL goal and the rest was history. Playing at historic Homewood Field the first season the Bayhawks met success early on. They compiled an 11-5 record that season but lost to Long Island in the initial League Championship game. Playing a 14 game schedule, the Bayhawks traveled to Long Island, Rochester, Boston, New Jersey and Bridgeport throughout the summer.

The summer of 2002 saw a new home for the Bayhawks as they moved down to the home of the Baltimore Ravens. PSINet Stadium proved a beautiful showcase for the young team and league that summer even if the weather would not cooperate. The Bayhawks compiled a 12-4 record in the summer of 2002 but finished strong with the team’s first MLL Championship. The 21-13 victory over the Long Island Lizards stands as the largest margin of victory in an MLL Championship Game.

The Bayhawks were the picture of a winning team that summer as they only outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals per game but still compiled a 75% winning percentage. 2003 started off in a familiar home for the Bayhawks. The Hawks moved back to Homewood Field after the 2002 home field at PSINet Stadium did not yield strong enough attendance numbers. Long Island and Baltimore would once again meet in the Championship game in 2003. This would result in the second Championship for Long Island as the two teams pushed themselves into the first overtime Championship game in League history.

The result was not surprising as the Lizards and Bayhawks had met in the two previous Championship games and the Bayhawks had only outscored their opponents by an average of one goal per game. The 8-5 records for the year would help maintain the Bayhawks’ dominance but showed that the rest of the league was beginning to catch up with both Long Island and Baltimore. The Bayhawks continued their winning ways in 2004. Another new home was in store for the Hawks as they moved into Johnny Unitas Stadium on the campus of Towson University.

The new surroundings were not as comfortable as the Hawks would have liked as they posted a 1-5 home record but achieved the distinction of becoming the first League team to win every road game that year. However with a win over New Jersey in the final home game of the season the Bayhawks qualified for the playoffs for the 4th straight time becoming the only team to accomplish that feat as well. The usually trip to the League Championship game was not to be in the 2004 season as the Bayhawks fell to the Boston Cannons in Boston in the League Semi-Finals.

Washing a down comforter...

Washing down is no huge problem. And really, you are best off doing it yourself.

Of course, if there's a local Laundromat, that offers cleaning services (usually by the pound)—and that you can trust to follow some special instructions—you could take your comforter there.

And you may have to anyway, as the only caveat is that washing MUST be done in a commercial-type, front-loading machine, or a newer home washing machine like the Maytag Neptune (which is a front-loader).

You can't use a top-loading machine with an agitator, as that will tear the baffles inside the bag. Simply toss a bag/comforter or some clothes and mild liquid detergent into the machine and wash on warm/gentle. Rinse the stuff a few extra times to make sure all the detergent is out of the down. Then, toss it into a big dryer, on medium. Some people like to toss in a tennis ball, as that will help break up the wet down clumps. Some people also say that too will tear the baffles. A few cotton towels likely would accomplish the same thing, and be gentler on the comforter.

Down stuff requires some care, especially if you are washing a favorite comforter, like a Baltimore Bayhawks comforter, but remember that washing MUST be done in a commercial-type, front-loading machine.
